CSA

What's a CSA, you may ask? The acronym stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Simply put, we (the community) are supporting our local farmers, and getting locally, organically grown produce for our enjoyment.

This is the way it works: We pay up-front for our produce for the local growing season, thereby giving some rough idea of how much produce our (very hard-working) farmers need to provide for us, in addition to guesstimating the need for the Farmers' Markets. It's the same produce everyone may purchase at the Farmers' Markets (both in Crescent City and Brookings), although ours is guaranteed whereas occasionally the Farmers' Market may run out of 'just what you wanted for dinner that night!' Our produce is frequently picked the very same day that it is boxed up and delivered to a 'pick-up point', thus assuring us high quality, very fresh produce, hopefully just a short drive away.

The boxes are filled with whatever is ready to be harvested, and not made-to-order, again providing fresh, ripe (and beautiful!) food.

We welcome questions, and are happy to assist you in any way we can.

If, for some reason, you or your friends are unable to pick up your Fort Dick box by Thursday morning, we will look for recipients for donation.  If you would like to make exceptional arrangements, please feel free to call or email the Raintrees (Mark or Diane) at (707) 487-4120 or csa@raintrees.com.

Our first pick up for Fort Dick was on Tuesday, June 22nd, around 2:45pm. We were glad to meet and greet many of you! The program is scheduled to last until the last drop off day, Tuesday November 2nd, (our 20th week).
